|
|
1. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\BFBC2
2. Open the Settings.ini
3. At the bottom is FOV=55. We know the range works up to at least 90, though 75 is what is typically used in FPS games. |

Actually, 90 is the old school FOV for most FPS games of old. _________________

At the end of the day, it's personal preference. If you put a number like 90 in, however, you'll increase your field of view to 90 degrees and see more around you. The downside is that it *could* cut into your performance as more is being rendered on screen, but you never really can know until you try _________________

The bigger issue I have with 90 is the fish eye lens look. 75 doesnt have any of that and it is wide enough to not feel like I am looking through a box. |

I typically don't feel like it's fish-eye-ish until around 110. 90 feels the most natural to me. As you can see, Fantigua, it's personal preference. Play around with values from 90 and down and see what you like. _________________

I'm yanking this from another forum:
| Quote: | From the Steam forums, the correct (vertical) FOV value to use in settings.ini to get the horizontal FOV you want:
4:3
-----
FOV90 (Recommended) = 74
FOV100 = 84
FOV110 = 94
-----
16:9
-----
FOV90 = 59
FOV100 = 68
FOV110 (Recommended) = 78
-----
16:10
-----
FOV90 = 65
FOV100 (Recommended) = 74
FOV110 = 84
|
Apparently this game does do FOV a bit different. The value on the left is the FOV you would ordinarily want and the one on the right is the value you set in the .ini. I'm not sure why I don't really notice the fisheye effect at 90 with a 4:3 ratio screen.
edit: Apparently I set it to 80 initially, which is why I never saw the fisheye others saw at 90. _________________
