Plasma, this is a suggestion for a potential primary (if everyone likes the idea) or hopefully at least a secondary.

It would be the same as a traditional setup excluding damage and kill cam.

After logging a good number of hours and playing quite a bit on HC servers, it feels like you get to really see the trade-offs with the different guns and their respective attributes with the damage experienced in HC games. Also, as far as I can tell, while you do die much easier, it forces you to be more on your toes and it also rewards players who out flank their enemies. As I am sure we have all experienced on regular servers, you can flank a guy and he has plenty of time to react, sometimes killing you.

Another bonus is that an experienced player can take on two or maybe even three guys at once and walk away, whereas with regular mode, by the time you are targeting enemy #2, you get a round or two in him before you are reloading leaving you at his mercy for a crucial number of seconds.

Let me know what you think and if anyone agrees, please speak up.

Not overly fond of HC but that being said I really havent played it all that much. Honestly I dont think the kill cam has that much of an impact anyway. Most of the time the only thing i see is a close up of the guy who shot me or an empty background image because he's already dead. So keeping it or not, for me, isnt an issue. As for damage, I do like being able to see how much damage my vehicle has left. Doesnt work a damn for personal damage though. The one hardcore server I was on didnt have damage available and I wasnt very fond of that. You can basically get hit 3 times in a tank before your gone without an engineers help and I guess thats something you can try to remember.

My suggestion would be to kill the kill cam and keep damage (that is of course if you have that option while setting up HC) and then see what response we get. We can always remove it if we want.

Just to clarify, by damage, I mean actual damage received by another player.

makes sense, i thought you were talking about the dmg monitor. I figured the damage in HC was "actual" anyway. 1 or 2 shots and your kaput. Very Happy

Having one of the servers be HC I think would work but I think KILLCAM should stay on the regular servers. With some of the jungle maps finding a sniper without it is like finding a needle in a haystack and no one i know enjoys being sniped 12 x in a row but not knowing where to find the killer. Yes you can constantly move around (and you should be anyway) but sometimes that wont help you. This was such a big issue in some games like COD4 that they added dogs in COD5 to try and prevent it (yes the dogs were dumb) so clearly others find it equally annoying.

The other things i like that HC Got rid of is the ability to see who is in your tank (do i have a gunner), is my tank repaired yet?, how damaged am i. I just think these are dumb things to leave out. HC used to mean more effective weapons and no ammo count and thats it.

Anyway in my opinion this is a great reason to have a HC server (like we do) and leave the other one unmolested. My .02 cents.
